Matthias Korn, representative for classical languages and their teaching at the University of Leipzig, tells us about a symposium (the summary was written together with Günter Kiefer). It was the fourth symposium in a series of conferences entitled “Prospects for Latin in Schools”, dedicated to the theme “Memory for the future – bridges from antiquity to the present day – The importance of a culture of remembrance for training and education”. The fifth symposium in the series is already in preparation and will focus on the theme of correction and assessment of written work at school and a crucial question: Latin lessons in a world that has become aclassical and “modern” – what should change?
