Krichbaumer Maria (2021). Unterwegs an der Seite des Gatten: Olympia Fulvia Morata zwischen Gefahr und Rettung. Impulse zur unterrichtlichen Behandlung des Schicksals einer humanistischen Ausnahmefrau. Ars docendi, 7, giugno 2021.
Maria Krichbaumer, a Latin teacher in Munich, follows up her essay in the last issue of Ars docendi with a presentation of Olympia Fulvia Morata, a well-known Italian humanist and philosopher who, shortly after her marriage to Andreas Grundler, was forced to leave Italy and seek a new home and accommodation beyond the Alps. The letters written by Olympia Morata convey the need to bear witness to the Gospel message, sharing spiritual nourishment with loved ones, even if they are physically distant. Certain specific aspects of the epistolary discourse stand out: the distance between the correspondents, the forced separation from loved ones and the urgency to communicate with those who are not present give rise to the need for the message. Maria Krichbaumer focuses in particular on a letter written to her father's friend, Celio Secondo Curione, and presents us with various teaching modules based on this moving letter.
