Vorwort – premessa – Foreword [Adami]
The third issue of our online magazine once again offers various essays based on the coronavirus crisis, which is unfortunately still ongoing - from very different starting points.
F. Scifo takes the crisis as the starting point for an examination of a very special 18th century speech of an abbot.
M. Roncoroni also makes repeated connections to the current situation in his essay on Cicero's philosophical writing ‘De amicitia’.
S. Quaglia analyses the current problems from the very concerned perspective of a school leader.
A. Pizzotti compares different methods of learning classical languages.
Martina Adami presents two highly interesting publications on fundamental topics in our subjects: translation and the study of the reception of antiquity.
We wish everyone an exciting read and hope that there will continue to be a lively exchange for our subject areas, which, at least in German-speaking South Tyrol, are being increasingly restricted politically, but we are fighting and defending ourselves for a world in which reflection and the ability to explore topics in depth and see them in a variety of connections and implications are not dismissed as irrelevant.
