In her state examination thesis, T. Gösche (trainee teacher in Dresden) examines two Latin textbooks that have been used for many years in Germany and have a large circulation to see whether they correspond to the Saxon curriculum in terms of historical and cultural studies content. She then examines the extent to which German-language books for children and young people can support the textbook phase in Latin lessons in the first years of learning in imparting knowledge in these two fields. In doing so, she investigates when this reading can expand the knowledge transfer through the textbook with further details and certain focal points or even has to compensate for it.
