Peter Kuhlmann, professor of classical philology at the University of Göttingen, has been promoting a different approach to teaching grammar than that used in traditional Latin lessons for years. The professor suggests a bilingual approach to grammar, mainly for two reasons:
1. because this also strengthens the promotion of the student's mother tongue (and even if the students are not native speakers, further support in the classroom language is possible);
2. because this leads to greater linguistic sensitivity.
