Adami, Martina (2020). Sonus tenuis similisque querenti. Panisches in der Musik des 20. Jahrhunderts. Ars docendi, 5, dicembre 2020.
Twenty years after publishing her doctoral thesis “Der große Pan ist tot!? Studien zur Pan-Rezeption in der Literatur des 19. und 20. Jahrhunderts” (Innsbruck, Institut für Germanistik, 2000 = Innsbrucker Beiträge zur Kulturwissenschaft: Germanistische Reihe; Vol. 61), Martina Adami analyses the reception of the ancient god Pan (and his entourage) in music, asking whether the myth of Pan was a source of inspiration for musicians of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as it had been for their colleagues in art and literature.
